Lorath is operated by Julius Berger, sole proprietor, based in Germany. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Lorath platform, including the websites at lorath.eu and app.lorath.eu, and all related services.
By creating an account, accessing, or using Lorath, you agree to be bound by these Terms in their version effective at the time of your registration or purchase. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the platform.
You must be at least 16 years of age to use Lorath. By using the service, you confirm that you meet this age requirement in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Lorath is an AI-powered tabletop role-playing game (RPG) platform. The service allows users to:
Lorath operates on a coin-based economy. Users can register for free and receive a limited set of features. Additional features and AI interactions require coins, which can be purchased through the platform.
3.1. To use Lorath, you must create an account by providing a username and password. You may optionally provide additional information such as your email address and name.
3.2. You agree to provide accurate and truthful information when registering and to keep your account details up to date.
3.3. Each person may only maintain one account. Creating multiple accounts to exploit free features, starter coins, or promotional offers is strictly prohibited and may result in the immediate suspension of all affected accounts.
3.4. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your account credentials. You must not share your login details with any third party or allow others to use your account.
3.5. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. If you suspect any unauthorised access, you must notify us immediately at support@lorath.eu.
4.1. Coins are a virtual currency used within Lorath to access premium features such as AI chat messages, image generation, and other content creation tools.
4.2. Coins can be purchased through the platform using the available payment methods. The current price of coins is displayed on the purchase page before you confirm your order.
4.3. Coin Expiry: All coins (whether purchased or received for free) expire 120 days after they are credited to your account. Expiry follows the First In, First Out (FIFO) principle — the oldest coins expire first. Expired coins cannot be refunded, restored, or exchanged.
4.4. No Refunds: Purchased coins are generally non-refundable, except where required by applicable statutory law (see Section 8 — Right of Withdrawal).
4.5. Payment Methods: Payments can be made via Stripe (credit card, debit card), PayPal, or bank transfer (prepayment). Specific payment methods may be unavailable in certain regions or at certain times at our discretion.
4.6. VAT Exemption: Pursuant to §19 UStG (German Small Business Regulation / Kleinunternehmerregelung), no value-added tax (VAT) is charged. Prices shown are final prices.
4.7. You agree to receive invoices electronically. Electronic invoices will be provided via email or through your user account.
4.8. We reserve the right to modify coin prices, coin packages, and the coin cost of features at any time. Any changes will not affect coins already purchased or credited at the time of the change.
5.1. Your Content: You retain all rights to the content you create and input into Lorath, including campaign descriptions, character details, and chat messages. By using the service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process and store your content solely for the purpose of providing the service.
5.2. AI-Generated Content: Content generated by the AI (including text responses, narratives, and images) is provided to you under a non-exclusive, worldwide licence for personal and commercial use, subject to the terms of the underlying AI model providers. We do not claim ownership over AI-generated outputs.
5.3. No Guarantee of Accuracy: AI-generated content is produced by third-party language models and image generators. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness of any AI output. AI responses may contain errors, inaccuracies, or unexpected content. You use AI-generated content at your own discretion and risk.
5.4. Prohibited Content: You must not use Lorath to create, store, or distribute content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable. We reserve the right to review and remove any content that violates these Terms or applicable law.

Violations of this Acceptable Use Policy may result in immediate account suspension or termination without prior notice.
7.1. The Lorath platform, including its design, code, graphics, logos, and all other non-user-generated content, is the property of the operator (Julius Berger) and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.
7.2. The AI models used by Lorath are provided by third-party companies (including Anthropic, MiniMax, Mistral AI, and Google). The use of AI-generated outputs is subject to the respective terms and conditions of these providers.
7.3. Content you create (campaigns, characters, chat inputs) remains your intellectual property. We do not claim any ownership rights over your user-generated content.
8.1. If you are a consumer within the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have the right to withdraw from a purchase contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day of the conclusion of the contract.
8.2. To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us of your decision by a clear statement (e.g. a letter sent by post or email) to:

8.3. If you withdraw, we will reimburse all payments received from you without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day on which we are informed of your decision to withdraw. We will use the same means of payment that you used for the original transaction.
8.4. Exception for Digital Content: Your right of withdrawal expires prematurely if the delivery of digital content (coin credit) has begun and you have expressly consented to the execution beginning before the expiry of the withdrawal period and have acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal. During the purchase process, you will be asked for this express consent and acknowledgement.
8.5. If you requested that the services should begin during the withdrawal period, you shall pay us a proportionate amount corresponding to the services already provided up to the point at which you notified us of your withdrawal.
8a.1. Certain content on Lorath is marked as “explicit” and is only accessible to persons aged 18 and above. To unlock this content, two conditions must be met:
8a.2. This procedure serves youth protection purposes. It constitutes a supplementary protective measure and does not replace a full age verification system.
9.1. The Lorath platform is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
9.2. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any AI-generated content.
9.3. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claims arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the use of Lorath shall not exceed the total amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9.4. We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption.
9.5. Important: Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit our liability for (a) death or personal injury caused by negligence, (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or (c) any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. In particular, these limitations do not affect your statutory consumer rights under EU, UK, or other applicable national law.
10.1. By You: You may delete your account at any time through the account settings within the application, or by contacting us via email. Upon deletion, all your data (campaigns, characters, messages, and profile information) will be permanently and irreversibly deleted.
10.2. By Us: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without prior notice, if we reasonably believe that you have violated these Terms. We are not obligated to provide a reason for the termination.
10.3. Remaining Coins: Upon account termination (whether by you or by us for cause), any remaining coins in your account will be forfeited. No refund or compensation will be provided for forfeited coins, except where required by applicable law.
10.4. After termination, all provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive will survive, including but not limited to intellectual property provisions and limitations of liability.
11.1. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you with reasonable advance notice via email (if you have provided an email address) or through an in-app notification.
11.2. The updated Terms will be posted on this page with the new effective date. Your continued use of Lorath after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
11.3. If you do not agree with the revised Terms, you must stop using the platform and delete your account.
11.4. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
12.1. These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG).
12.2. For business users and merchants, the exclusive place of jurisdiction is Stuttgart, Germany.
12.3. For consumers, the courts of your habitual residence shall have jurisdiction in accordance with applicable law.
12.4. EU Consumers: If you are a consumer in the European Union, you additionally benefit from any mandatory provisions of the consumer protection laws of your country of residence. Nothing in these Terms affects your rights under such mandatory provisions.
12.5. UK Consumers: If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 applies. Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or restrict any rights you have under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable UK consumer protection legislation.
12.6. Online Dispute Resolution: The European Commission provides an online dispute resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are not obligated and generally not willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
